About Us

The WPI Ballroom Dance Team offers many opportunities for dancing at our weekly lessons, social dance trips, and competitions. We hope to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for dancing whether you’re interested in the competitive or social aspects. We hope you’ll join us!

Social Dancing

The WPI BDT often makes trips, as a team, to other colleges and studios for social dances. This is a great way to meet other dancers and practice all you’ve learned.

WPI Ballroom is very active on the competition scene, and many of our members choose to follow a more competitive track. We compete at approximately 12 major competitions throughout the year; however, choosing to become involved in competitions is completely voluntary and not a required part of being an active member of the team.

In addition, WPI and Clark University team up each year to host their own competition, the Worcester Classic Ballroom Dance Competition. This is held in the Sports and Recreation Center at WPI. More information can be found in the "WCBDC" tab.
