Hello, and welcome to the IFC Website! Here you can find all the information you need for Rush 2011 on all the 13 Fraternities that WPI has to offer. On each of the Fraternity pages, you will see basic information about the chapters themselves as well as links to each chapter's website. To see all the events for rush simply click on Events on the left hand side, or go to each chapter's page and look at what is posted on their rush calendar. Rush is one of the most exciting times of the year for Greek life, so check back here often for all the information you will need to stay informed and most of all, to stay involved.

What is the IFC?

---

The IFC is designed to oversee the Fraternity system here at WPI, and is comprised of members from all recognized Fraternities on campus. Among the duties of the IFC are the organization of formal Recruitment (the process of joining a Fraternity); upholding of its risk management policies; maintaining a strong relationship with the campus faculty, administration, and non-Greek students; and community service programming.

Nearly one-third of all WPI undergraduates are members of the Greek Community, and we sincerely hope you will consider joining if you aren’t! Fraternities provide leadership development, a strong social bond, great learning experiences, and fun. If you’re new to WPI, we urge you to consider checking out the formal Recruitment period which begins October 31st with House Tours.

Why do so many students join Greek organizations?

Most students will tell you it is more than the social aspect that attracted them to Greek Life. Each chapter is based on a set of ideals and values that extend throughout their brotherhood/sisterhood. Examples of these values include community service, scholarship and leadership. Getting involved in Greek Life gives you the opportunity to explore your leadership abilities, as well as develop friendships that extend well beyond graduation.

Can anyone join a Greek Organization?

Any full-time undergraduate student is eligible for New Member Recruitment if they have passed 2/3 classes in A Term. Students who are taking semester-long courses should see the Greek Advisor prior to New Member Recruitment to obtain an academically eligible status.

What can you expect to experience during New Member Recruitment?

---

Recruitment starts with informational sessions in the residence halls. House tours for both the men and women follow, then Recruitment becomes somewhat different depending if you are joining a fraternity or sorority. Interfraternity Council (IFC) Recruitment continues the entire month of November, while Panhellenic Recruitment lasts a little over a week. Please consult the schedule on this web site for dates and times. You are also welcome to contact either the IFC or Panhel Presidents with any specific questions you may have concerning Recruitment. You can also expect to meet a lot of new people and do some fun things during recruitment.

When does New Member Recruitment begin?

New Member Recruitment will start at the beginning of B Term. A complete list of dates and details are available on this web site. Keep in mind that even if you decide to attend any or all of these events, it does not mean that you have to join a fraternity or sorority! New Member Recruitment is a great way to meet new people and explore your options on campus. The Greek community invites you to come and find out more about Greek Life at WPI!
