About Us

The WPI BMES Chapter is part of a national professional society that was started on February 1, 1968. The purpose of BMES is "To promote and enhance biomedical engineering knowledge worldwide and its utilization for the health and well-being of humankind."

Being in school for BME means you'll someday be in a professional environment as a BME. The goal of our chapter is to get you there by networking, mentoring, teaching and assisting each other, using each others' strengths as biomedical engineers to build solid foundations for careers as biomedical engineers.

By becoming a member of the WPI chapter of BMES, you can:

  • Have the opportunity to meet other BME students and professors
  • Take part in chapter events, such as symposiums and sporting events
  • Be a part of the mentor program, which allows upperclassmen to serve as a valuable resource for underclass BME students
  • Learn about internship, REU and job opportunities
  • Hear from guest speakers in the industry
  • Gain leadership experience by becoming an officer
  • Obtain answers to any other questions you may have about biomedical engineering

If you'd like to learn more about the WPI chapter of BMES please feel free to contact the 2016-2017 officer board at bmesdreamteam@wpi.edu

About Dalton
Hey everyone! If you're reading this, it's too late. Keep reading because I appreciate you. I'm a part of the Class of 2016 here at WPI and a proud Biomedical Engineering major! I've been a part of WPI's Mens Rugby team since my freshman year. I love my major in BME and the entire BME community. I have been a part of the Biomedical Engineering Society here at WPI for all four years, serving as President for the passed year. It has been an incredible experience and I'm excited to see the growth that the organization will have. It is a great feeling to help others who share similar passions. If you are a BME or interested in BME, feel free to email me: dmoakley@wpi.edu. I'm happy to answer any questions and help you get involved! GO TECH!
